“Catch”
Playing for hours,
waiting for respite, trying
to freeze those moments.

Playing for hours,
waiting for respite, trying
to freeze those moments.
Steve D
Examining bits,
snippets strewn like mist until
a vision unveils.
Steve D
Winding and babbling
or plunging over rapids,
always flows forward.
Steve D
Selective harvest,
taking only what you need,
and the forest thrives.
Steve D
Afternoon coffee,
neighborhood jaunt, then porch-sit.
Watch the town flow by.
Steve D
Non-stop production,
and then a moment of rest,
and I feel restless.
Steve D
Rethink word placement,
or choice, or phraseology,

Steve D
Ghost, you call, pointing.
Just a shadow, I explain.
And yet, I wonder.
Steve D
My three-year-old insists on calling any shadow he sees a “ghost”. I’ve tried to correct him a few times, but the more I think about it, the creepier the idea is. So I hope you all are equally creeped out. You’re welcome. *laughs in Halloween*
Wake up with morning,
steaming energy, then shift
to numbing tonic.
Steve D
Unrelenting force
sweeping hair and crying gulls,
full of salt and bluster.
