November Write Day: Hours in the Day

Much like September, October flew by. However, I am feeling much better mentally than I did the previous month.

I can’t claim to have had a productive month, but I enjoyed and was invigorated by a lot of what I did. Continue reading “November Write Day: Hours in the Day”

Friday Write-Day: Vacation Writing

Busy week. My western adventures, as Jessie called them, ended yesterday.

From Colorado to Nevada and even California, I’ve seen a lot of beautiful vistas and lakes. I also managed to write a fair bit in my draft for The Warden of Everfeld: Legacy. Continue reading “Friday Write-Day: Vacation Writing”

Friday Publishing-Day: Notes over Greenland

Guess who’s back in the US?!?!

In case you haven’t seen the haiku I’ve been posting this week (with some very obvious riddles), the wife and I were in England for a wedding and some good ole R+R in London.

Traveler’s Haiku – Hyde

“Hyde”

Wide fields rimmed with trees,

with meadows free to grow wild

as they once might have.

We took a stroll through Hyde Park yesterday on our way to the science museum. The beautiful weather helped make it our most enjoyable day in the city.

Traveler’s Haiku – Baker

“Baker”

History, fiction

collide on neat Baker Street,

a quaint deduction.

Wedding celebrations commenced yesterday, and my mini grad school reunion was a great time. Now, the wife and I are staying in west London. Can anyone guess which well-known residence we visited today?

Traveler’s Haiku – Enfield

“Enfield”

Paving stone sidewalks

lead to an unknown town, but

still familiar.

Guess who’s in England! We arrived yesterday afternoon to attend my friend’s wedding tomorrow.  This will be a reunion of several of my grad school friends, so it’s only fitting that the smaller town we’re staying in reminds me of Exeter.

A Short but Sweet Overnight Stay in Lexington, KY

As you may or may not have been aware, Jessie and I just concluded a road trip to move her from Denver back to Baltimore — where she belongs!

We drove a small moving truck filled with her crap precious belongings 1,800 miles over three days. Among long days of driving and stops in multiple cities, one place snuck up on us to steal our hearts: Lexington, Kentucky. Continue reading “A Short but Sweet Overnight Stay in Lexington, KY”
