Thrown Away – JG

A hundred pages
Ripped free from metal spirals and sheets soon to share their fate…
They lie on dirty floors and in overflowing trash cans,
Full of abandoned ideas and wasted ink.

A thousand words
Callously discarded, given a second glance and then disregarded anew.
All about you. Unwitting muse, unlikely recipient of confused intent and
Unsent letters lost amongst the debris.

A million characters
None able to spare themselves the pain of what they were used to say.
Words that were only ever crumbled and crushed – never voiced aloud,
Their sound unknown to the world or their intended.
