Heartfelt confession of crime so sinful,
God turns away in disgust.
Whose only victim: the criminal,
Would be better off if they never trust
Another enough to voice the words of guilt.
Words sure to be met with hatred built
On lies; despised because of natural inclination.
Why admit such a flaw?
Keep it in, clean of sin,
Man’s God will ignore it all
As long as you fit in
To society’s perfect plastic version of you.
Plastic so easy to wipe clear,
Of dirt and failure and tears
Born from painful expectations, religious damnations,
Too many regrets and always holding back
So they never suspect
Anything but normalcy.
