I don’t know what the future holds –
Its mystery unfolds slow,
Each new choice leading you astray,
From the path you chose years ago,
From the ways of even yesterday.
Why is it so hard to follow your
American Dream, in the day?
What do you wish for?
And who do you wish to be?
For me, the future is bleak,
Because I can’t see passed the right now.
But I don’t want that to be how
I’ll always be – Not Dreaming.
I want you to accomplish
Your heart’s every wish.
I’d do anything to help you with this
But every hand I offer, you dismiss.
In our dreams, we’re always alone,
And maybe, without one of my own,
I’ll never understand yours.
But it’s hard to plan for more,
For some bright future,
When the present,
Is keeping me awake at night.
I don’t know what the future holds –
Its mystery unfolds slow,
Each new choice leading you astray,
From the path you chose years ago,
From the ways of even yesterday.
Why is it so hard to follow your
American Dream, in the day?
