Misplaced Missive #64 – F.A.M.I.L.Y.

You would turn me away,
Your own flesh and blood,
Because of something beyond my control.
So your gratitude and ignorant love,
Mean nothing, once the truth is told.

From the truth, I keep you far,
Away, a new lie for a new day,
My heart, my truths locked and sealed,
It’s okay, it’s not hard to conceal.
Lose the truth to find the lie.
You’ll never know why.

Ignorance is your love’s condition,
Protection from your hate.
To you, I just can’t relate,
A relative that only loves
The false image they create.

But to keep your fake love,
I will hide myself.
Pretending this bond
Will never break.
Knowing the lies
Are for both our sakes.

From the truth, I keep you far,
Away, a new lie for a new day,
My heart, my truths locked and sealed,
It’s okay, it’s not hard to conceal.
Lose the truth to find the lie.
You’ll never know why.
