Misplaced Missive #81 – Blind

The more light there is
The less I can see.
A universe full of stars
The brightest blinding me.

If it’s invisible, does it matter?
The things I hide,
The things I deny,
The ones about which I lie,
Do they matter?

We won’t ever see
What we don’t know
To look for.

Terrified
By what the darkness reveals,
But
I’ll trade willful ignorance
To be able to wield this fickle spotlight.
Privilege beyond the rest,
Bliss bestowed by worth;
You can’t thirst for something unknown,
So give in
And let me show you
What may not matter in the visible.
