15 on the 15th – In my Tennessee mountain home, crickets sing in the fields near by

So I’m trying a different style for this Tennessee playlist. Consider The Civil Wars as a trailer for the rest of the CD, where all the other songs play out the story from song 2 to 14. Notes written below each video are just for amusement.

The Civil Wars

Quick Notes: Originated in Nashville, tragically disbanded in 2014. TRAGICALLY. Hopefully one day they’ll get back together and go for that fifth Grammy…

Justin Timberlake

Dancing JT is my favorite JT.

The Cadillac Three

Formerly known as The Cadillac Black.

Kings Of Leon

Another four Grammy band. I imagine they’ll get their fifth soon enough.

Paramore

Five studio albums and counting.

Dolly Parton & Miley Cyrus

Godmother and Goddaughter are both from Tennessee. Jolene is such a classic, it’s been covered hundreds of times. Including again by Cyrus here.

Citizen Cope

Citizen Cope is actually Clarence Greenwood. It’s crazy to me that he’s now 50 years old.

Tina Turner

“…What’s love but a sweet old fashioned notion…”
Iconic.

Memphis Slim

Born John Len Chatman.

Skillet

Song starts at 4:50 for those who wish to skip ahead. Great Christian rock band with a wonderful message and strong positive vibes.

Meg Myers

I featured another one of her songs in a pairing with a poem I wrote awhile back. Stevie dug her sound and he wrote this about his feels.

Lady Antebellum

Lol dude from Arrested Development is in the video. I just noticed.

Ingram Hill

Homesick James

Good ole fashioned American Blues and slide guitar.

Red

Uplifting Christian rock at its finest.

Jessie Gutierrez

Honorable Mention:
Hot Chelle Rae
