Color Schemes – Not All That Glitters Is Gold – JG

Many like you strive
To have a heart of gold.
Weak and malleable,
But appealing to hold.

I’d prefer a heart of obsidian.
Honest about its blackest sin, Continue reading “Color Schemes – Not All That Glitters Is Gold – JG”

Creativity Sessions: Not Seeing the Trees for the Forest

River in the forestLooking at that picture, most people would hear the water chiming over stones and logs, or imagine the animals that may be hidden behind that line of trees. I look at this picture and imagine the mountain spring that flows down into this river, or the wide expanse of the forest. Continue reading “Creativity Sessions: Not Seeing the Trees for the Forest”

Concept Art – I Appear Missing and Conveniently Forgot to RSVP to the Search Party

The last six years of my life have been spent in the exact same way. Fact: my autopilot setting is so solid and well practiced that my pilot is as foreign to me as a distant planet. Which is perhaps why I’ve had such a rough time writing lately. How can I possibly have anything worth saying if I haven’t experienced anything worth writing about?

Originally this was going to be a thought blog on fate and plans coming together almost too easily and how change, while scary, can be awesome. Instead I found this:

Sways with every step of your bulldog swagger.
Sandstone-quarry eyes betray your pretty smile,
Refusing to let the faces see your fractures. Continue reading “Shakespearean Sonnet – (Secret) Love – SD”

Color Schemes – If I Must – JG

The flame in all of us
Fire as inspiration
Soul afire, burning strong
Creativity’s companion –
A mate, a match, a song

A brightest of bright blaze
Purifying grace
A beauty of impossible kindness
None could deny this;
All but extinguished,
Relinquished spark and
Forgotten art. Continue reading “Color Schemes – If I Must – JG”
