So I scheduled this to publish this morning as an ultimatum for myself and forgot to finish and upload the poem. It got four likes with only a quote and a link to a video, so… thank you for the support I guess 😛
Well, it’s been a while since I’ve written one of these theme posts. Normally I’d start off by talking about September’s posts, but… nothing has been posted yet. Go us! So instead I’ll just take a moment to revel in just how long we’ve kept this whole project up – 17 months!
Holy crap, it’s almost October. This is the reason I avoid lofty New-Year’s-resolution-style goals at the beginning of the year. I am happy to say that I am on pace to meet some of the realistic goals I’ve set for myself. I should exceed my minimum for financial savings this year. My wedding is almost exactly one year away, and we have most of the major plans in place already (thanks mostly to my fiance, but whatever, I helped!). I stumbled upon a small rock band from Philly by total accident. One of Hop Along’s newest songs came up on auto-play in a video I had been listening to. The streaming service started playing a Hop Along song right I was about to close the window. Upon hearing a distorted guitar effect, I decided to give this unknown song a listen. A few hours later, I had ordered two copies of Hop Along’s newest album, Painted Shut, for myself and a friend. (The friend had asked me to burn the CD for him, but I prefer to give my money to smaller bands than rip their music. They’ve earned it.)
This is not the first time I have found new music by happy accident, and damn, with the streak I’m on, I hope it’s not the last.
