Shameless Plug: “The Warden of Everfeld: Memento”

This is a friendly reminder that I recently wrote and published a fantasy adventure called The Warden of Everfeld: Memento.

This novel is available for purchase on Amazon.com:

  • $4.99 on Kindle
  • $12.99 in paperback
  • I will also be selling paperbacks at Awesome Con in DC, April 26-28, for just $10. So come visit my table! (More details coming)

Here is the full synopsis:

The Second Redskael War left many communities in Everfeld in mourning, and now they have united in mutual protection. Aston dreams of fighting for his home as his father did, but Jaed only wants to find the home she never had.

When a long-buried secret is revealed, Jaed and Aston must flee those who would stamp out any threat to the fledgling Felding Alliance. Now they must each make a choice: run away and condemn the society they were raised in, or fight back to protect those they love.

The Warden of Everfeld: Memento follows their adventure as they struggle to reconcile their pasts and discover the true meanings of identity, honor, loyalty, and love. Their choices will change their lives and Everfeld forever.

Aaaand some additional information for good measure…

Haiku Sunday NaNo Edition – Aston

“Aston”

Long-faced child of war-
Soft hazel eyes search the trees
Knowing not for what.

Author’s Note: Aston is the other protagonist (along with Jaed) for my novel, “Aston and Jaed”. Aston looks much like an ethnic Felding; fair skin, hazel eyes, light brown hair, and a tall, lean build. A young man of 19, Aston grew up in the shadow of the Second Clan War, in which his father was killed when Aston was only twelve. Aston has a strong sense of duty for his family, but he also cares for Jaed deeply. He must reconcile his past in order to become the honorable man he wants to be.

Pervasive Longing: Of Monsters and Men’s First Album, and Long-Overdue Return

Our music reviews seek to trace the narratives that weave between songs and albums. Check out our Rhythmic Fiction tag for other stories told through music.

Have you heard the new Of Monsters and Men album? Well… it’s not exactly new. Actually it’s not new at all. My Head is an Animal, their debut album, was released on September 20, 2011. I saw Of Monsters and Men perform live in June of 2013, and they were fantastic. I have been eagerly awaiting news of their second album for nearly two years now, and last week, I finally heard the announcement of their second studio album on the radio: June 9.

Do you know what this means? I began writing this review for kicks last November, and it’s finally relevant! I no longer have to justify reviewing an almost 4-year-old album on the basis of my pining for the sweet melodies of Nanna Bryndís Hilmarsdóttir’s voice. My Novel Idea: The Trouble with Genre

November officially begins in two days, and for me and a few hundred thousand other writers, November 1 marks the beginning of my first NaNoWriMo journey. I’ve already given a brief overview of what genre hole I’m stuffing my novel’s peg into, but I’d like to go into a little more detail. Continue reading “My Novel Idea: The Trouble with Genre”

My Novel Idea – NaNoWriMo

Writing 50,000 words in the span of one month sounds crazy to me. That means writing, on average, 1,667 words per day, which doesn’t sound daunting, but really is because I have to actually come up with 1,667 things to say every day.

Context? Yes, that might be helpful. Continue reading “My Novel Idea – NaNoWriMo”
