Winter’s Dawn
Stand outside on a dark winter’s dawn,
When the sun begins to rise and the snow begins to thaw;
When it’s so frigid the tears that fall,
Feel as though they freeze the path they tumble upon.
Stare up at the sky and wonder why
The real world has to deteriorate the unique in this mundane way,
How it never changes, but will never be the same
As it’s remembered after being colored by nostalgia.
Breathe deep as your individuality sings that familiar song,
And know truly this is where you belong –
Out in the cold, alone and finally calm.
The isolation and chill has made you strong.
Don’t be afraid of the clarity of your own company.
You’ll always be who you were.
And who you are.
And that is more than enough – it’s infinite.
Breathe deep as your individuality sings that familiar song,
And know truly this is where you belong –
Out in the cold, alone and finally calm.
The isolation and chill has made you strong.
