“Fun in the Sun”
Dawn’s yellow light floods into the room.
Early morning sparrows are greeting the day.
Glistening grass still covered in dew,
Jumping out of bed to go out and play.
Running through the trees, monsters we slay,
Crafting adventures from make-believe.
Heat beating down in the afternoon haze,
Pavement baking under bare feet
Golden light still peeks through the trees.
Buying Eclair’s and Warheads for change
As dusk birds warble among the leaves,
And the campfire logs we arrange.
Bright-eyed gaze growing up as a child
When world was wide, untamed, and wild.
