Alluring dreams of desolation
Self inflicted isolation
Earned by deception
But only in self preservation
On two legs but all of one mind
This herd population, this current generation
That I must regrettably call mine;
Our excuses and outright manipulations
Entitlement and blatant discriminations.
Stealing from others to fill holes in ourselves.
Solitude is all I wish for.
Caring about people leaves you vulnerable
It’s the worst kind of asking for trouble
Because it’s all blind trust and deafening hope
So the betrayal, the inevitable disappointment,
Is that much harder to cope with
After all that initial effort.
