Why hello there, reader! It’s been a bit since I held myself accountable and told you what I’m up to, thus: this.
To start, a bit of background music to enjoy whilst you read:
That’s better, now isn’t it? I think so too. And hey, if you stumble upon some extra time later and are Johnny Cash fans, check out Forever Words, both an album and a book devoted to the legend’s unpublished writing.
Now that we’ve got some great tunes, I’ll tell you about how I’m rather overwhelmingly involved in a lot of literary things. Living out my philosophy of ‘the best way to become a good writer is to be a great reader’, I am 9 books finished of my 45 book goodreads‘ reading goal of 2018. And of those 9, I have reviewed 4. Not a stellar percentage of read to reviewed completion, but I’m a work in progress.
Here’s what I’ve read so far, with links to those already reviewed:
John Green’s Looking For Alaska
Bo Burnham’s Egghead
Dan Barker’s godless
Robert Heinlein’s Farmham’s Freehold
Richard Greene’s Orphan Black And Philosophy
Mitch Albom’s Tuesdays with Morrie
Voltaire’s Candide
Tara K Harper’s Lightwing
Kazuo Ishiguro’s Never Let Me Go
A pretty decent mix of genres, if I may say so myself. Bonus? Now you know what to expect in upcoming Saturdays.
In regards to other bookesque goals, I am in the midst of:
– Reading Henry James’ The Turn Of The Screw
– Hiring an book editor via Upwork, Stevie’s freelance site of choice
– Writing up teaser bios for my main protagonists to post on this very site
Well gosh. Typing it all out like this makes me feel even busier than before I sat down to do so. And I didn’t even mention my drafting out the perfect officiant speech… ’cause yes, that’s also a bit of writing I’m working on. I’ve noticed that finding the balance between familial sappiness and universally appealing humor is a tricky thing to manage.
That’s all I’ve got for you today though, gentle reader. Thanks for stopping by, and later days!

HIRING AN EDITOR YAASSSSS!!! Proud of you 😛 Also, are you officiating a wedding? Why has it been so long since we’ve talked!
