Misplaced Missive #11 – Your Poem

I wrote you a letter the other day.
It sits in a notebook tucked out of the way.
I wish I was daring enough to send it,
But I fear if I do, everything will change.

I’ve been counting the days,
Since we last spoke.
I have them mentally jotted down,
Trying to kill off the last of my hope.

Because maybe, as time passes,
Without a word or meet,
I’ll realize how little I mean to you,
And these feelings will leave me in peace.

I wrote you a poem today.
It’s in the same notebook I’m sorry to say.
I’m glad I’m aware enough to leave them unsent,
‘Cause I know either way, nothing will change.
