This week has not been as much of a sleep-deprived blur as last week. It’s still flown by surprisingly fast. My writing time was slim, but I managed to make some headway in a couple of other areas.
I wrote about 1,000 words this week, but not in The Warden of Everfeld: Legacy. My writing attention has unintentionally turned back to a project I’ve been chipping away at for a few years…
The Mythology of Úr’Dan
I know I’ve mentioned this before, but I started writing an anthology of myths for my fantasy universe a few years ago. These ideas and characters have crept back into my mind, and I’ve decided to finish a first “volume” of these stories. So, work on WoEL has been temporarily sidelined.
I’m still working out what I’m going to do with this volume, but news is coming.
Retroactive Revisioning
As I talked about last week, I decided to submit revised Create Space and KDP manuscripts for WoEM. Last week, I worked with my book designer over at Red Raven Book Design to implement a number of minor grammatical corrections to my manuscripts. I won’t say how many, but just know it was enough for me to do it.
So these aren’t sweeping changes for a “second edition”. I’m just updating the current (and only) edition of the book.
However, because of the extra time and $$ I’ve invested into an already-published novel, I’ve raised the prices slightly. The print version will now be listed at $13.50, and the Kindle version’s new price is TBD.
Stepping Outside My Box
My author friend MLS Weech, author of Caught and The Journals of Bob Drifter has encouraged me to attend Baltimore Comic-Con with him this weekend.
Due to my revisions to WoEM , I will not be actively selling books, but I’ll pop in on Sunday to say hi to Weech at his table and give away some bookmarks!
Not only is this my first convention as an author — this is my first convention ever. So it will be great to test the waters a bit and get a feel for these things.
Next year, I plan to actually sell books with Weech and maybe possibly with Jessie when she publishes her book that she never talks about?!?!?!
So… yeah. I’m excited to check out Comic-Con. I can just imagine on of my friends’ reaction when I tell him I’m going this year. He’s been trying to get me to go for years , and now he lives in L.A.
