Why can’t you see what we see?
The way he’s crushing you,
Beneath his self serving greed.
From down there, can you hear me shout?
Or does his weight block it out?
‘Til you’re free, I’ll stand here and shout.
He’s not just holding you down,
He’s burying you under,
And no matter how loud,
We shout. And shout. And Shout!
You can’t hear the sound,
Of our doubts and fears.
Fears I kept mostly silent,
Honest; I’m scared by it.
Your dependence on this parasite,
He’s sucking you dry. Don’t deny it.
Why can’t you escape from him?
Answering and obeying his every whim;
Love could never be that selfish.
From down there, can you hear me shout?
Or does his weight block it out?
‘Til you’re free, I’ll stand here and shout.
