The Key to Social Media Marketing

marketing-your-novel

Disclosure: I work for a marketing firm. While I have no formal education in marketing or business and would never claim to be an “expert”, working in online marketing for two companies over the last  four years has taught me a lot. This series will explore the marketing strategies I will use to promote my upcoming novel.

About two months ago I discussed social media marketing in this space, and how I have been applying basic rules for promoting my author brand on social media to my own Facebook page.

In that post, I provided four basic tips to running a successful marketing campaign through social media and shared my own experiences thus far with building an organic following. Continue reading “The Key to Social Media Marketing”

Once Upon a Time… Aka a short fairytale commentary

Once upon the beginning of time, there was light. Beautiful, boundless light that shined in every direction, illuminating all that was and all that would ever be, to infinity. The only problem with all that illuminating was that it made it very hard to see. Continue reading “Once Upon a Time… Aka a short fairytale commentary”

Úr’Dan: Exploring the Alternate Universe

I have talked about my upcoming novel, The Warden of Everfeld: Memento, in mostly vague terms to this point. That is largely by design.

Misplaced Missive #29: Memories

Thinking back to days that have passed,
I wish I could remember:

The mornings that seemed to last forever
The afternoons when anything was possible
And the nights with more star than dark

The scent of the breeze
The shade from palm trees
The warm ocean waves

Doing as we pleased

The people I met
The way time was spent
The feel of the wind, the sun, the sea

I wish to rewind, relive it one more time.
But will going back shatter the memory?

I wish they could last an eternity,
But they continue to escape me,
Fading away as I grow older,
Turning swiftly into a hint of a story
With details forgotten and faces blurry.

PARABOLIS Review: Engaging the Audience in Layers

I think the best stories come to us in the most interesting ways. Yet again, I have encountered an author and a world in the most unexpected of places. I first saw Parabolis  in an imgur post a couple years ago. I bought the book immediately. I regret that it took me this long to read.
