Haiku Sunday – Reset

“Reset”

The green light flashes,

the screen goes black, fading out

to return anew.

We visited my sister-in-law and her boyfriend at their new place in Philly, and I fully intended to post a related haiku this morning. That, obviously, did not happen. I didn’t even manage to take a picture while we were there. But we had a great time eating, drinking, and having fun with the baby and the dog.

Random Ideas #1

My mind tends to wander. Sometimes, my conversations with others wander into strange ideas or interesting proposals.

Most of these ideas are too vague or too far-fetched for me to pursue in any meaningful way, but maybe someone else can.

The One Question Required to Write Speculative Fiction

I don’t talk a whole lot about genre in this space, mostly because I think it’s difficult — and not altogether necessary — to fit stories into neat little boxes.

Genres cross and overlap all over the place, and the water gets even murkier when you throw in the hundreds of hyper-specific sub-genres readers can find now.

#AmConsuming: A Sudden Dearth of Consuming Time

June has been a tough month for my consumption of various media. I started my new job two weeks ago, and I’ve spent most of that time trying to hone my daily routine.
