My weeks have really been flying by, and I still can’t figure out why. The stress at work has eased off a bit, so that’s good. Reading through my manuscript has gone more slowly than I wanted, but I’ve made solid progress.
This is the second time a OTH quote got me to thinking and I once again wished to share it with you:
Whitey to Lucas: ‘When my wife died, things got pretty dark there for a while. Nobody could talk to me. And then, one of my former players, the kid may be the worst player I ever coached, waded into that darkness and pulled me to safety. That kid’s name was Keith Scott. He said, “Coach, I… I know you want some answers, but what is the right answer? Because there is no answer. There’s just life. Just life.” Lucas, be the man that Keith taught you to be. Anything less would make this a much greater tragedy than it already is.’Continue reading “TV Quote Ponderings – One Tree Hill 3×17”→
Milestones are sort of weird. They can be easy to lose track of until you’re sitting right on top of them. I stopped myself from doing one of these stats update posts until we had hit a real milestone.
Well, I stopped paying attention, and here we are well over 20,000 Views and 13,000 visitors all-time. Sweet!

After all, Voltaire was French, I needed to mind my American vowel sound bias here. As I read through the novel, I rapidly come to the conclusion that either would be perfectly suitable for our protagonist. For those of you immediately calling in to question the accuracy of dubbing a grown man ‘candied’, please allow me to elaborate. Continue reading “Saturday of Book Reviewing – Voltaire’s Candide”→
AKA Jessie doesn’t know how to be an adult and interact with other humans who seek to aid her in her quest for manuscript editing.
Sooooo yeah. Another blog style entry from me this week at Stevie’s encouragement. He’s been… moderately helpful in this whole process, but really, I think I rather enjoy being freaked out; after all, if I didn’t love it, why would I do it so very, terribly often?!? I did not realize how long it’s been since I wrote one of these. Apologies if you’ve felt bombarded over the head with writing updates, marketing tips, and publishing think-pieces for four months.
Not heartfelt apologies, though. I regret nothing.
