Friday Publishing-Day: Taking Shape

This week flew by pretty quickly, and I can’t quite pinpoint what has occupied my time and thoughts.

I’ve been productive overall, so that’s good news. Aaaand the novel beyond the manuscript is starting to take shape. Freakin’ awesome. Continue reading “Friday Publishing-Day: Taking Shape”

Friday Publish-Day: A New Deadline

Welcome to a new edition of Friday… Day! As you might have heard earlier this week, I’m in need of a change-up. This series will officially focus on my publishing efforts, even though that’s essentially what I’ve been trying to do for weeks.

On to the updates! Continue reading “Friday Publish-Day: A New Deadline”

Song Share And Action Update!

Why hello there, reader! It’s been a bit since I held myself accountable and told you what I’m up to, thus: this.

To start, a bit of background music to enjoy whilst you read:

That’s better, now isn’t it? I think so too. And hey, if you stumble upon some extra time later and are Johnny Cash fans, check out Forever Words, both an album and a book devoted to the legend’s unpublished writing.  Continue reading “Song Share And Action Update!”

Changing My Writing Mindset… to A Publishing Mindset

The last couple of weeks have not been my best, in life in general.

I’ve been staying up too late, sleeping in too much, not grinding enough towards my publishing goals, and generally wallowing in a thin but ever-present veil of anxiety and stress. It’s been coming from all sides.

Too real? Sorry. Allow me to explain. Continue reading “Changing My Writing Mindset… to A Publishing Mindset”

Friday Write-Day: I Need A Map!

I realized this week that I don’t have a nicely illustrated map of my fantasy world.

For anyone familiar with fantasy novels, having a beautiful map for the reader to reference as they journey through this fictional world is, like, where 60% of the enjoyment of fantasy stories comes from. Continue reading “Friday Write-Day: I Need A Map!”

How to Promote A New Book Release

Whether or not this turns out to be the right way to market a soon-to-be and newly published novel remains to be seen, but I like my plan and I’m sticking to it. Continue reading “How to Promote A New Book Release”

Friday Write-Day: Am I Confident or Just Naive?

As I’ve already written several times, revision for my third manuscript of WoEM have gone rather smoothly. I’ve had to rewrite a couple of sections, or rethink my character arcs, but overall, I feel really good about where this story is in this more polished iteration.

Am I crazy? Continue reading “Friday Write-Day: Am I Confident or Just Naive?”

Exploring Úr’Dan: The Arrowhead

I’ve managed to fall into a monthly rhythm with this series without even trying. However, I may do an extra one this month in honor of NaNo.

For today’s journey, I’d like to take you to a small region that wields significant influence in the Uplands — some might even say disproportionate influence. Continue reading “Exploring Úr’Dan: The Arrowhead”
