Numberbrag 2019! And 2020 Plans

2019 was a weird year. I helped raise an infant into a toddler. I lost my job, was unemployed for four months, and found a new job in a totally unexpected place. And, oh yeah, I transferred five years’ worth of website content to a new domain!

I legitimately forgot that we switched from Red String PaperCuts to Evening Satellite as our main site in 2019, until I read over my numberbrag post from this time last year.

In that post, I focused on the types of content featured most heavily on this site in 2018, and some loose ideas about where I thought we were going in 2019. I’ll do something similar for 2019 and 2020.

2018 Numberbrag and 2019 Plans

In case there’s anyone who has yet to notice, 2018 is over, and that means 2019 is full of hope and promise… or maybe cynicism, depending on your outlook.

Before I get into my own plans for 2019, I’d like to stick to my now-annual tradition of looking back at our stats here on RSPC for 2018.

Belated Numberbrag and Marketing Goals

Goals are funny. Sometimes, when they’re outside of your direct control, it’s better not to pay too close attention to them.

Numberbrag: 20,000 Views Under the Web

Milestones are sort of weird. They can be easy to lose track of until you’re sitting right on top of them. I stopped myself from doing one of these stats update posts until we had hit a real milestone.

Well, I stopped paying attention, and here we are well over 20,000 Views and 13,000 visitors all-time. Sweet!

Since we’re through the first quarter of 2018, I wanted to have a look at some other recent numbers. Continue reading “Numberbrag: 20,000 Views Under the Web”

Numberbrag: 2017’s Statistical Ups and Downs

Overall, 2017 was a great statistical year for RSPC. For eight months out of the year, we averaged at least 20 Views per day. That’s awesome!

But there were some notable lows as well, especially compared to the stellar performance across most of the year. Continue reading “Numberbrag: 2017’s Statistical Ups and Downs”

Numberbrag: New Monthly High!

Man, it’s hard coming back to everything after an extended holiday, even the things we want to be doing. Writing has been sparse for me this month, despite my pre-NaNo bluster about getting a jump-start on my second novel. But I’ll talk about that more on Friday, because today, Red String PaperCuts hit a pretty sweet milestone! Continue reading “Numberbrag: New Monthly High!”
