“Into the Abyss”
The sea giants balk at me,
Licking phosphorescent teeth.
My feet locked in and twisting,
Jockeying for positioning,
Hastening the dark descent
Into the black maw, that gawking pit.
Roaring through the undertow,
A sonic boom of icy sin.
They open wide for the laughingstock,
Mockeries of judgment in ad hoc.
Life tocs down as the lungs unlock,
Caught in a block of ice cold shock.
My pockets filled with rocks
To travel opposite from rocket ships,
Chock full of cement block soles,
The doom of the apostate.
I’m positive the poker chips
Are weighing down my trouser slits,
Gambling the light away,
Like burning looming docket slips.
They open wide for the laughingstock,
Mockeries of judgment in ad hoc.
Life tocs down as the lungs unlock,
Caught in a block of ice cold shock.
And downward I drift
Through the blue
Blackening now
Into the abyss
Opening wide for the laughingstock,
Mockeries of judgment in ad hoc.
Life tocs down as the lungs unlock,
Caught in a block of ice cold shock.
