Misplaced Missives 14 & 84, And How They Came To Be

Generally, I’d prefer not to talk about what inspired me to write the missives. Most of them bubbled forth from religious doubt and self hatred and fears of growing up. Some are naturally darker than others… but they are not unique. Not in what they sprung from.

Recently, and not recently, stories have come to light about predators, protected by their power and by their peers, preying upon those who should have been able to trust them. People who failed so spectacularly to be decent human beings that there are no words to describe them.

As you’ve probably read at some point on this space, the last two-plus months have been pretty hectic for me. All of my spare time has been consumed by buying and moving into a new house while also trying to finish the second draft of my novel.

15 on the 15th – Almost Like Praying

Puerto Rico is still suffering. That’s 3.5 million American citizens still suffering, and despite concentrated efforts, the Island Of Enchantment has raised less support than its fellow stricken lands of Texas and Florida, so… I made this. I figure it can’t hurt and I’m thinking about the island all the time anyway. I know PR isn’t a state, so this is technically deviating from the 15ths’ initial intent, but, oh well. Please forgive me and, if you’re able, please show the island a little love.
