Welp, November is over. National Novel Writing Month sped by me, but that’s been true of every month since my son was born.
I had a lofty goal of writing 20,000 words on Dad-Life Time, but NaNoWriMo goals are always lofty, right?
Anyway, it’s time I rethink how I approach my writing schedule and goals. Continue reading “Friday Write-Day: NaNo Came and Went”

Hello to everyone! I want once again to offer an opportunity for all writers who follow this blog to share information on their books. It can be very difficult to generate publicity for our writing, so I thought this little effort might help. All books may be mentioned, and there is no restriction on genre. This includes poetry and non-fiction.
To participate, simply give your name, your book, information about it, and where to purchase it in the comments section. Then please be willing to reblog and/or tweet this post. The more people that see it, the more publicity we can generate for everyone’s books.
After you have posted, come back to see who else has put up information on their books.
Thank you for participating!

Celebrate and promote your writing!
Shout it out to the world!
Let everyone know about your work!
Feel free to…

Happy Friday. Have a YouTube:
You’re welcome. It’s been quite some time since I’ve heard new Hozier music, but maybe it’s time for a sequel to my review of his first album. That was way back in December 2014… nearly four years ago!
Aaahh, memories. Onto the writing!

I really can’t fathom at this point how I won NaNoWriMo in 2016. What demonic powers took hold of me then?!
I’ve enjoyed trying to keep up with NaNo this year, but man, my writing progress standards have changed.
I’ve been talking more and more about the mythology series I have been writing for my fantasy universe. I’m pretty excited about these stories, so I think it’s time I shared why this kind of story is important to me.
I could make this a listicle, but I don’t want to. Follow me on this journey!

November has arrived, and it somehow still feels like autumn has barely begun. But, as has been tradition around here for… 4 years, November means it’s time for National Novel Writing Month!
I’ve been relatively busy with being a dad and all, so it should come as a surprise to no one that I haven’t prepared in the slightest.
This was another one of those weeks where it felt pretty busy/hectic, but I don’t really remember specifically what happened.
[Thinking…]
We had a lot of visitors and things going on around the house. That’s why it felt busy. I didn’t have much time for writing due to this, but progress is not always measured in word count
Writing introductory sections is hard. I struggle to write intros to my blog posts sometimes.
Okay, a lot of times.
But I’ve picked up on one key way to introduce characters to the reader in a new story: introduce your character in their element.
