This week has been… interesting. I will spare you all my political ramblings in the wake of the US election, but suffice it to say that I have been wholly distracted from writing this week. I do not feel bad about it; elections are important. This election i particular is important, and I will be following President-elect Donald Trump’s policies closely.
I’ll probably write about this more as we head towards his inauguration, but for now, I need to get back to NaNo. I’m at just over 5,500 words for The Warden of Everfeld: Legacy, and I plan on making a big push this weekend. Although I’m way behind on my word count by any measure, I’m still aiming to have 30,000 words of this story on paper before December.
However, I’m getting a bit anxious to begin revising Manuscript: Alpha of The Warden of Everfeld: Memento as well. My plan for tackling Manuscript: Beta is to use my printed manuscripts, all noted and marked up by my alpha readers and me, and re-type the whole damn novel in a blank document. I think that will make it easier for me to implement huge changes, or just rewrite entire sections as I see fit, without confusing myself with moving sections of text or leaving out important pieces.
The problem is that I am still waiting on two of my alpha readers to send their manuscripts back. I feel that I would be doing myself an injustice if I began implementing revisions in full without their feedback, so wait I shall.
Have a good weekend, everybody. Be good to each other. That’s all that really matters.
