Yes! At long last my first work is being officially published somewhere other than my own website!
And no, it’s not my book… That would be insane if that was being published all of a sudden. Are you insane? I might be.
It’s my short story! Remember that? I believe I talked about here a few months ago. Basically, I first submitted this short story to Five on the Fifth‘s short fiction contest. It was not accepted, but I knew I wanted to submit it again… so I did. And they accepted!
So, some info about my short story…
Title: “Wolf’s Moon Night”
Genre: dark fantasy / horror
Publication Date: February 5, 2017
Publisher: FiveontheFifth.com‘s February issue
Brief Summary: Davlin the shepherd boy shrugs off the folktales he has heard his entire life as stories his grandmother used to scare him. But the Wolf’s Moon reveals the line between truth and myth has been blurred. Only then does Davlin understand he should have been scared all along.
Interesting Tidbit: This story takes place in the same universe as The Warden of Everfeld: Memento, but is separated both geographically and temporally… as in “Wolf’s Moon Night” takes place about 300 years before the events of WoEM in a region several hundred miles to the south of Everfeld.
Confession: that’s probably a terrible summary, but I wrote it in about 10 minutes. And I’m too excited to care.
I will definitely be posting the link to all (two) of our platforms on February 5, so stay tuned!
Oh, right, my novel… I wrote 4,900 words this week for a total of 47,000. Not bad. Still not good enough.
Goal for February 3: 55,000 words
