You should all know by now that I love music. 2017 has been pretty quiet for me on that front. Aside from discovering a couple more bands, I’ve only been to a few concerts this year, with one more definitely on the way and two more I’d like to make.

Luckily, some of my favorites are due to release albums in the near future. Here’s what my upcoming music listening slate will look like.

Gorillaz, Humanz, Mar. 23

This album wasn’t even on my radar this year, but I saw Gorillaz last week, so it gets an honorable mention. He was awesome; full band, back-up vocalists, and amazing video screen. Great show.

Lorde, Melodrama, Jun. 16

Yes, I realize these first two albums are already out. However, I have not yet listened to either. I really enjoyed Lorde’s first album, and I like this single off of this one. I’ll probably pick it up at some point.

PVRIS, What’s Wrong, Aug. 25

PVRIS is a recent favorite of mine. After listening to their debut LP White Noise on repeat and writing a review, it wasn’t long before I discovered they were set to release another album. I’m also trying to go to their show in DC this October.

Queens of the Stone Age, Villains, Aug. 25

Another one of my upcoming concert slate! Saw these guys a few years ago, and they were great. The crowd was lame. But I am an avid Joshua Homme fan.

Foo Fighters, Concrete and Gold, Sep. 15

Come on. Foo Fighters are my favorite band. Every time they take a “hiatus”, they return within eight months with a new fuckin’ album. Where were these short-lived hiatuses after In Your Honor?!

Týr, as yet unannounced and untitled album, I’m just hoping they’ll see this and decide to announce their next album

I have three of their eight albums so far. I’m behind, but I’m already stoked for their next album and potential (????) North American tour? They’re currently on a slate of festivals in Europe.  But I need more of this in my life.

Okay, okay. This post was a thinly veiled attempt to entertain you while I neglect to write a real post. I have a novel to write! Hopefully I’ll be able to give you a juicy update on Friday.
