Friday Published-Day: The Work Continues

This has been a pretty big week, if only symbolically.

I officially made The Warden of Everfeld: Memento available for pre-order on Kindle before both the Kindle and print versions are published on July 18.

That’s a pretty big deal for me, anyway.

Other than that, I’ve done a lot of mental gear-turning over what comes next, both before WoEM is released to the world and after it’s out.

Finally, I must give a quick shout-out to the people who helped make this possible for me:

  • Red Raven Book Design for handling the interior formatting
  • My alpha readers Aaron, Evan, Jessie, and Joe, who gave me fantastically constructive criticism on my first draft
  • My editor, Kaitlyn Curtis, who really dug in and helped me refine this story
  • My illustrator, Sergey Velisser, who astounded me with his skill and design
  • And of course, my wife, Krista, who has done nothing but support me and act as my sounding board over the last four years I’ve been bringing this story to life

Stay tuned for further updates over the next month and beyond!

Friday Publishing-Day: So Close Yet So Far

This has been a weird week in publishing world. From finicky software to minor non-errors, I’ve suddenly hit a number of hang-ups that probably aren’t a big deal.

It’s just been annoying. I know I’ll be able to iron out the kinks. Luckily, I’ve made progress in other areas this week. Continue reading “Friday Publishing-Day: So Close Yet So Far”

Friday Publishing-Day: Notes over Greenland

Guess who’s back in the US?!?!

In case you haven’t seen the haiku I’ve been posting this week (with some very obvious riddles), the wife and I were in England for a wedding and some good ole R+R in London.

I managed to get some sweet pics of what I assume is Greenland on our flight from Reykjavik to Baltimore. I’ve seen plenty of documentary footage of the arctic, but flying directly over it with such a clear view of the terrain felt like I’d been transported to another world. Friday Publishing-Day: Coming Together

This has certainly been an interesting week, not least because I drove halfway across the country.

With my manuscript for WoEM in the hands of my book designer, I have been able to focus on other pieces of this larger puzzle. Continue reading “Friday Publishing-Day: Coming Together”

Exploring Úr’Dan: The Western Uplands

In the hopes of reviving this series as a monthly installment, I’d like to talk about another region of northern Úr’Dan. The Western Uplands have received terribly little attention in my writings so far.

I must admit, this region of Úr’Dan is not as fleshed out as some of the others we’ve discussed. We’re changing that today! Continue reading “Exploring Úr’Dan: The Western Uplands”

Friday Publishing-Day: Brief Update

Welp, I definitely forgot today was Friday, so I will be brief.

This week has felt very full, but I think I’ve accomplished very little publishing-wise. Stress at work is the main cause of that.

Fortunately, my book design is under way. Continue reading “Friday Publishing-Day: Brief Update”

Novel Manuscript Submitted… Now What?

I finally did it. I completed my revisions of The Warden of Everfeld: Memento and sent it off to my book designer for formatting.

I feel… anxious? I don’t know. I’m glad to have it done, and on deadline, but suddenly the reality of publishing this thing is washing over me.

I think I’ll settle in once my book designer sends back a sample of what he’s thinking for the interior design. Until then, I’d like to remain productive. Continue reading “Novel Manuscript Submitted… Now What?”
