You belong in a cage,
Trapped with the other animals.
How dare you think yourself loved?
Is there any you wouldn’t place yourself above?
We you see beneath you,
We hate you, praise those,
That locked you away. Continue reading “Misplaced Missive #104 – Cage”

At my feet you wait,
ever hopeful a morsel

Written by Bo Burnham and illustrated by Chance Bone, Egghead was published in 2013. I was familiar with Burnham’s stand up, and really, that’s why I first purchased the book.
Apologies for the delayed posting. As I mentioned last week, I was out of town for a work conference for three days this week.
I had a great time and enjoyed meeting a lot of my colleagues, but it was a bit of a whirlwind week. Continue reading “Friday Write-Day: What a Week”
S 4:E02 Synopsis: ‘Worried about her daughter’s safety, single mom Marie signs up for a cutting-edge device that monitors the girl’s whereabouts – and much more.
Ostensibly, this is a story about an overprotective parent suffering the natural consequences of that parenting style taken to its logical extreme. The triggers are twofold; first comes the difficult birth and stillborn scare, second is single mom Marie losing young Sara, her shiny new munchkin, whilst at the playground. That’s right, I said it. My semi-pantser model of writing the early drafts of WoEM has become a bit of an annoyance. I think I have been converted to a planner.
Now that I’m well into of my revisions — in the final third of my story — my somewhat free-wheeling outline style has come back to bite me.

I’d give you anything,
Because you won’t ask for a thing.
I want to do everything for you,
Because you need me for nothing. Continue reading “Misplaced Missive #97 – Useless”
Once in a time span,
we connect in love, laughter,
a cascade friendship.
It’s sort of romantic the way old friends can connect with each other. Even after a decade or more, I still manage to find little sparks of humor and love with people I do not always see or interact with regularly. There’s a certain comfort in that, but also a sad longing. I think both of those feelings contribute to a more content life.

I click on pretty much any content that has ‘wolf’ in the title. This time it worked well in my favor.
Right. Soo this is my attempt at a Stevie-like update. Please don’t expect this to become a regular occurrence as it feels awkward as all hell to be jotting life down this way, but here goes: Continue reading “Song Share and Intention Update!”
