After a pretty hectic, up-and-down week, today feels pretty good. Continue reading “Friday Write-Day: The Excitement is Real”
The 9-Step Publication Plan
My how things can change in a few days. Monday was a strange day. Due to circumstances at work, I ended up over-thinking a lot of things, some work-related, some book-related, and getting a little stressed.
Despite my wave of confidence last Friday, I’m pretty nervous about the entire publishing process.
I feel good about my book and my abilities to make it enjoyable for people aside from my friends, but publishing the thing is an entirely different story. Continue reading “The 9-Step Publication Plan”
Misplaced Missive #87 – Goodbye
life lost in a flash:
all our memories rush passed,
all the good, all the bad,
Last moment of the treasured Past,
before the Present becomes painful.
bad luck of a die cast,
Future lost and potential dashed. Continue reading “Misplaced Missive #87 – Goodbye”
Haiku Sunday – Hail

Broken sky fragments
tumbling to Earth like marbles
pinging off car hoods.

Friday Write-Day: Am I Confident or Just Naive?
As I’ve already written several times, revision for my third manuscript of WoEM have gone rather smoothly. I’ve had to rewrite a couple of sections, or rethink my character arcs, but overall, I feel really good about where this story is in this more polished iteration.
Am I crazy? Continue reading “Friday Write-Day: Am I Confident or Just Naive?”

The more light there is
The less I can see.

Saturday of Book Reviewing – Ginsberg’s Howl and Other Poems
This isn’t so much a review as it is an admittance of inadequacy: I do not possess the proper background to get the most out of these poems. Howl, the piece from which this book takes its name, was first published in 1956, a post WWII masterpiece. I’ve heard amazing things about Ginsberg’s work ‘defining a generation’ and you know what? I guess on a surface level I get that… but not to the depths. Continue reading “Saturday of Book Reviewing – Ginsberg’s Howl and Other Poems”
Friday Write-Day: Forging Ahead
I’m very satisfied with my progress on Manuscript: Charlie this week. One of PW’s cousins made a surprise trip into town, so we spent two evenings catching up with him, which was great.
Even with that little bit of time spent away from WoEM, I revised 34,500 words this week, shy of my goal of 40,000, but still nothing to be ashamed of.
