Public Service Announcement: RSPC Will be Migrating

It’s just time. I’ve been running both this website and EveningSatellite.com, our book imprint, for almost two years, and I’ve felt more and more like we didn’t need two websites.

So this blog will be migrating to EveningSatellite.com in the next couple of weeks. My sources on the interwebs tell me that I should be able to do this with no detriment to our followers, content, etc., since they’re both WordPress.com sites, but I am wary.

So if you suddenly come here and it looks a bit different, that’s why. Continue reading “Public Service Announcement: RSPC Will be Migrating”

  • My illustrator, Sergey Velisser, who astounded me with his skill and design
  • And of course, my wife, Krista, who has done nothing but support me and act as my sounding board over the last four years I’ve been bringing this story to life

Stay tuned for further updates over the next month and beyond!

How to Promote A New Book Release

Well, I’ve had about a week to collect myself and focus on the business side of publishing a novel. Now, I’d like to discuss how I am planning the pre-release and release phases of my novel from a marketing perspective.

Whether or not this turns out to be the right way to market a soon-to-be and newly published novel remains to be seen, but I like my plan and I’m sticking to it. Continue reading “How to Promote A New Book Release”

Slightly Revised Marketing Plan… 2018!

Apologies for the late post today. A certain Jessie kept me on a video call for four hours last night.

With the revisions of The Warden of Everfeld: Memento coming along nicely, it’s time to talk about how I’ll be promoting this book.

My marketing efforts last year were focused on audience-building, and that’s largely still the goal. But now, with a tentative release date of early 2018, I need to be sure that the audience I build is actually interested in buying my book.

Here’s how my 2017 marketing campaign has gone through six months. Continue reading “Mid-Year Marketing Report: How Are We Doing?”

Press Release Analytics: How Our First PR Performed

Analytics.

That’s a big scary word that most people try to avoid at all costs. Unfortunately (for some), it’s the most important part of any marketing campaign. Analytics tell you how well your marketing campaign is performing in real data.

For an online press release, there are a few key data points you should be looking at. But let’s back up for a moment. I sent my first press release on April 25th. Continue reading “Press Release Analytics: How Our First PR Performed”
