Friday Write-Day: Trying to be Patient

This has been a strange week in terms of my writing and publishing goals. While stay-at-home dad-ing, I’ve had little to no time to actually write much, but that’s not really the issue.

I find myself growing increasingly impatient with my writing and publishing progress. Consider this post my attempt to reset myself. Continue reading “Friday Write-Day: Trying to be Patient”

Friday Write-Day: Gearing Up to Slow Down

Man, my two-week stay-at-home-dad-cation cannot come fast enough.

Between work, the usual holiday stresses, and… mostly work, I’m really looking forward to just sitting at home with Nugget. Continue reading “Friday Write-Day: Gearing Up to Slow Down”

Friday Write-Day: NaNo Came and Went

Welp, November is over. National Novel Writing Month sped by me, but that’s been true of every month since my son was born.

I had a lofty goal of writing 20,000 words on Dad-Life Time, but NaNoWriMo goals are always lofty, right?

Anyway, it’s time I rethink how I approach my writing schedule and goals. Continue reading “Friday Write-Day: NaNo Came and Went”

Friday Write-Day: Movement

Happy Friday. Have a YouTube:

You’re welcome. It’s been quite some time since I’ve heard new Hozier music, but maybe it’s time for a sequel to my review of his first album. That was way back in December 2014… nearly four years ago!

Aaahh, memories. Onto the writing!

Friday Write-Day: Oh, Right, NaNo Time!

November has arrived, and it somehow still feels like autumn has barely begun. But, as has been tradition around here for… 4 years, November means it’s time for National Novel Writing Month!

I’ve been relatively busy with being a dad and all, so it should come as a surprise to no one that I haven’t prepared in the slightest.

Friday Write-Day: Revisions Are Coming

This was another one of those weeks where it felt pretty busy/hectic, but I don’t really remember specifically what happened.

[Thinking…]

We had a lot of visitors and things going on around the house. That’s why it felt busy. I didn’t have much time for writing due to this, but progress is not always measured in word count

Friday Write-Day: Taking Infants in Public?!

This week flew by. It’s one of those weeks where I feel like I did a lot, but I have to stop and think about it.

We brought Nugget to a craft festival outside Baltimore last Saturday. He was much beloved by many people who stopped to ask us about him. Apparently, it’s “brave” of us to take a 6-week-old in public. He mostly slept on my chest, wrapped in one of those backpack-style harnesses.

Friday Write-Day: Moral Victories?

Sometimes, the tangible goals don’t matter as much as the intangible. For instance, Nugget can lift his head up and hold it steady for a few seconds without teetering over like a top-heavy paper weight. That seems like a big accomplishment for a five-week-old!

As you might have guessed, I couldn’t write that much this week, but I did manage to make some moves in cool/interesting directions.

Belated Numberbrag and Marketing Goals

Goals are funny. Sometimes, when they’re outside of your direct control, it’s better not to pay too close attention to them.

I lost sight of any specific marketing or statistical goals for this website for this year, since most of my efforts focused on publishing and promoting The Warden of Everfeld: Memento. So without particularly trying, we’ve hit a lot of goals… from 2017.
